Good to know when cooking fresh vegetables in the microwave:
Most recipes here specify covering the dish before cooking. You can use either a casserole dish with a lid (microwave-safe, of course) or plastic wrap.
If you choose plastic wrap, after the vegetables are cooked, carefully slit the plastic to let the steam release before removing the plastic. This releases the hot steam, we don't want you to get burned!
Microwaves vary so much in power, so please use the time instructions in these recipes as a guideline.
Not everyone "believes" in microwaves. I don't share that concern but welcome thoughtful, fact-based and polite comments from those who do. Impolite comments will be microwaved deleted.
